Karen Kay Tucker passed away in her sleep on March 18, 2023. She was 87 years old. Born in Morris City, Minnesota on February 22,1936 to Harold and Jeanne Fosso.
Karen had one younger sister named Mary. Karen attended Colusa High School and was referred to as “Einstein in a Skirt” in the 53-54 Colusa High School Year Book. Karen met her husband Jerry Tucker at 15 years old and they became girlfriend and boyfriend. Karen and Jerry were married in June 1955. They were married for 67 years. Surviving are her sons Jerry Tucker, Jr. and Tim Tucker and two daughter-in-laws, Gracie and Kelley. Karen has six grandchildren, Tim, Kristi, Jason, Jaclyn, Chuck and Desiree. The grandchildren significant others are Kristi’s husband Gavin, Jason’s wife Cristen and Chuck’s wife Brittney and one great-grandson Maddox White. Karen and her family moved to Manteca in January of 1971. She filled the role of homemaker while her husband Jerry worked at Spreckels Sugar. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church. She was also a founding member of Manteca Quilters in 1979 and made many lasting friends and participated in their classes, outings, fund raising and annual Quilt Show until her passing. She was also a member of the Manteca Running Club for 10 years. After Retirement, Karen and Jerry loved to go camping in their RV and sit on their back porch, reading good books in the afternoon and evenings.
