Josephine Holloway, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, just one day shy of her 101st birthday. Born on December 29, 1923, in Oklahoma, Josephine moved to Manteca in 1958, where she spent the remainder of her life surrounded by family and friends.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Homer, as well as her children Allen Holloway, Linda Lagomarsino, Tommy Holloway, and Betty Rotella and her grandson Richard, Josephine's legacy lives on through her surviving children: Anthony Holloway, Jo Anne Hill, Barbara Crawford, and Marsha Cabrera. She was also a proud grandmother to many, including Rosanna, Rena, Robyn, Dina, Randy, Dawn, Aaron, Tracy, Michael, Tom, Leslie, Charlie, and Tony. In addition, she leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

As the ninth of eleven siblings, Josephine was the last of her family, carrying the love and memories of her brothers and sisters with her throughout her life.

Josephine dedicated her career to the California Youth Authority as a warehouse manager, where she also taught cooking to the youth.  She had a love for gardening, with a special front yard adorned with statues of many stone animals-a shrine of love collected over the years from her family and friends.

An avid fan of local casinos, Josephine enjoyed many trips, including a recent visit to Jackson just a few months ago. For over 60 years, she found joy in shopping local garage sales, always on the lookout for hidden treasures. Above all, Josephine cherished family gatherings and holiday celebrations, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and love.

A simple yet extraordinary woman, Josephine was known for her sweet nature and motherly demeanor, always extending kindness and warmth to others. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel at home, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of those who knew her.
