On July 15, 2018, in Modesto, CA, John Staal, Jr. finished his 87 year earthly pilgrimage only to begin his heavenly one with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born on March 11, 1931, to his parents John and Sadie Staal. 

   He leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years, Dee Staal, his children David (Anne) Staal, Pamela (Michael) Dengerink, Holly (Dennis) Donegan, his grandchildren Meghan Staal, Allison Staal, Michael J. Dengerink, Jillian (Marty) De Hoog, Kathleen Dengerink, Robert (Cas) Dengerink, Peter Donegan, Paul (Rebecca) Donegan, Kaitlin (Zach) Haynes, four great grandchildren, his brother Sam Staal and sister Barbara Koopman, and several friends. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed.

   A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 24, at 10 a.m. at Ripon Cemetery, 320 North Stockton Avenue in Ripon. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Zion Christian Reformed, 1220 Canal Blvd. in Ripon. Donations may be made to Bethany Home.
