John R. Rodriquez, 84, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Good Samaritan Home in Lyons, KS. He was born on Jan. 8, 1926 in Pearl City, Hawaii.

He was retired from the U.S. Air Force (food service); he also worked as an extruder operator for CertainTeed Plastics in McPherson. He was a resident of Lyons, KS, since 2004, former resident of McPherson from 1979 to 2004 and Lindsberg from 1963 to 1979.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Rodriquez (Sheryl) of KS, Anthony Rodriquez (Angela) of Lyons, KS, Steven Rodriquez of McPherson, KS, Daniel Rodriquez of Omaha, AR; daughters, Maria Starr (Rusty) of McPherson, KS, Regina Wynn (Doug) of Haysville, KS, and Linda Rodriquez (Rick) of McPherson, KS; survived by 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Michael Hambley. Interment will be at Smoky Hill Cemetery in Lindsborg, KS with military honors conducted by the McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Stockham Family Funeral Home; family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
