John Liska, 88, entered into rest on August 12, 2011 in Manteca, California. He was born on August 29, 1922 in Coaldale, PA. He was a resident of Manteca for over 25 years.

John is survived by his children; Lorraine Pretti of Castro Valley, Michael Liska of Fullerton, and Teresa Guthmiller of Manteca. He was blessed by four grandchildren; Nicole Maggy of Burbank, Brandy Montaivo of Burbank, Leah Anderson of Modesto, Justin Anderson of Manteca and two great-grandchildren Brooke Maggy and Cameron
Anderson.

We will miss his intelligence, smile, his laughter, the sparkle in his eyes, his modesty, and gentle strength. He was a family man, an inspiration and hero to us and our country. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1946 receiving honors and accommodations. He is now with his wife, parents, siblings and the brave men he served his country with. He is loved and will never be forgotten.
