John F. Pimentel, 90, entered to rest surrounded by his loving family on December 19, 2014 in Manteca. He was born on February 24, 1924 in Ripon, CA to the late John R. and Maria J. Pimentel. He joins his adored granddaughter Jenna Pimentel and his two sisters Mary Silva and Albertina Gomes in heaven.
John leaves behind his wife of 54 years Ana Pimentel of Manteca, children, John Manuel Pimentel and Ann Pimentel Elam both of Manteca. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Vanessa Pimentel, John Howard Pimentel, Jaimee Pimentel, Jimmy Wayne Elam, Jessica Ann Elam and two great grandchildren, Gabriel Cervantes and Lucila Pierce. In addition he has two surviving siblings, Pauline Gomes and Virginia Hall.
John was a United States veteran serving his country proudly through the Army. He retired from Speckles Sugar after 25 years as a train engineer. John was born into a farming family, working on the farm from the moment he could walk, until his final days. He was a faithful Catholic and a member of St. Anthony’s Church, member of the Legion of Mary and a member of the Y.M.I. He was hard working and a devoted husband and father. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
P.L. Fry is honored to serve the Pimentel family. A Rosary will be held on Monday, December 29 at 4:00pm at P.L. Fry and Son, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. Mass will be Tuesday, December 30 at 10:30 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 East North Street, Manteca. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Escalon, CA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Anthony’s School Tuition Assistance Fund.
