John Curtis McKeever obit

Curt passed away at home on a summer morning in August. He enjoyed a view of his citrus trees and grapevines. Curt crossed over to the other side after a brief journey through cancer.

   Curt was the first-born son of John and Viola (Curtis) McKeever of Port Jefferson, New York. He lived in California’s Central Valley for 70 years, with the exception of several years in Boise. He explored by kayak the rivers of Idaho.

   Curt is survived by his wife of 53 years Loretta Sarina McKeever; son; Chris (Megan); daughter Gina; and grandsons Aiden Curtis and Troy Christopher.

   Curtis leaves behind sister Lynn Lowman, brothers, Jim (Pat) McKeever and Dan (Mary) McKeever, and brother-in-law Garry Engstrom. Curt was preceded in death by his sister Kathy Engstrom and his parents.

   Arrangements are by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 10 a.m., followed by a service at 11a.m. at P.L. Fry and Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. Burial will be private.

   Family and friends are invited to Curt’s Celebration of Life at Chez Shari, 305 N. Union Rd., Manteca, immediately following the service. Please consider wearing Hawaiian print attire.
