Joann Bennett, 58, entered into rest on July 21, 2013 in Stockton, CA. She was born November 8, 1954 in Michigan. She joins her parents Thomas and Margaret Stevenson and her sister Sue in heaven.
Joann is survived by her daughter Davina Bennett. Joann has two surviving siblings Sandy Kyros and Tom Stevenson.
Ms. Bennett was a resident of Manteca for over 25 years. She was an employee of San Joaquin County Office of Education working with autistic children at Jacobson and Jefferson schools, both in Tracy. She was employed with the county for over 20 years. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and volunteered for St. Jude’s for children. She was an advocate for autistic children as she always gave of herself to many different organizations. She loved the outdoors, camping and relaxing near the water. A perfect day for Joann was curled up with a good book, enjoying the sun and listening to the waves on a beautiful beach. She was an avid Seahawks fan and was passionate about supporting her troops overseas. Joann’s biggest joy in life was her daughter Davina. She was always so proud of her daughter and all of her academic accomplishments as well as her athletic talents. She loved Davina unconditionally and supported her goals with a loving joyous heart. Joann will be remembered for her kindhearted spirit, her selfless attitude and her corky fun personality. She will be missed.
