Jimmie Anthony Pugh, 76, a much- loved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather. Jimmie Pugh of Manteca, CA, entered to rest peacefully Thursday, May 1, 2014. Under the loving care of Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson CA.
   He was born April 3rd, 1938 in Jasper MO. and later moved to Manteca, CA where he graduated from Manteca High School.  Jimmie joined the Operating Engineers Local 3 where he would later retire as a heavy equipment operator after more than 50 years of service.
   He was a member of the Manteca-Ripon Pentecost Society, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the Manteca Historical Society.
   Jimmie’s greatest love was his wife of 28 years. He was a kind man with a giving heart, always a jokester. His children, grand children and great-grandchildren were his everything. Jimmie’s greatest passion was stock car racing. He enjoyed going to 99 Speedway to watch his son- in-law compete and sometimes traveled as far as Nevada for some dirt track action. He was an avid Nascar fan with Jimmie Johnson being his driver. He also enjoyed watching the Sacramento Kings and 49er’s play when televised. Jimmie enjoyed being home at the ranch and taking walks around the almond orchard with his dogs that he so loved. He took pride in his 1949 Ford truck that he had been restoring for many years. In his early days of retirement, he was a regular at Perkos, Brawleys, and Jimmy’s for morning coffee and jokes amongst friends. Jimmie was a giving man with a huge heart, always quick witted. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
   Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, JD Pugh and Ella May Stovall, grandson Blaid Spurgeon, and daughter-in-law Jessy Pugh
    He leaves behind his beloved wife, Isabelle Steves Pugh of Manteca, his children and their spouses: (Larry) Steves and Cindy Clark of Escalon, Steve and (Michelle) Bousliman of Ripon, Chris Pugh of Turlock, Marty Steves of  Ripon, Nanette Handsome of Lovelock,  NV, Melinda Pugh of Auburn, Marc and (Gina)Borges of Manteca, Eunice Steves of Manteca, grandchildren; Mark Steves, (Alisha)and Richard Waage, Janeese Nobles, Ashley Prater, (Kayla)and Justen Roche, Kyle Dunlap, Alexis Rae Humphrey, Steven Bousliman, Alyssa Humphrey, Jacob Pugh, Caleb Pugh, Matteo Steves, Marc Borges Jr.,
great-grandchildren; Marcus Steves, Deegan Nobles, Austen Roche, Isabella Steves, Chloe Roche, Matthew Waage, Kasen Roche, Brenton Prater
sister; Shirley Pointer of Fresno.
   Memorial Mass will be held Friday, May 9th, 10:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 505 E. North St., Manteca, CA.
   He will be laid to rest at a later date at St. Johns Cemetery in Escalon, CA.
