Jennie Micheletos obit

Jennie Micheletos, born March 2, 1929, in Hanna, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, in Manteca, California. She was 96 years old.

Jennie was the beloved daughter of the late John Mazanakis and Chris and Athena Lamatis. She shared 63 devoted years of marriage with her late husband, Bill Micheletos. A resident of Manteca for 71 years, Jennie built a life rooted in family and community.

She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Marie (Bob) Basso of Stockton, Greg (Dora) Micheletos of Manteca, and Lynne (Ken) Summers of Manteca. Jennie was a cherished grandmother to Michael Basso, Gina (Ryan) Murray, Kara (Jeff) Teach, and Kenny (Krysta) Summers. Her legacy continues through her five great-grandchildren.

Jennie worked as an office secretary for 30 years, bringing dedication and grace to her profession. Beyond her career, she was known for her warmth and hospitality. An exceptional cook, she found joy in feeding family and friends and made everyone feel welcome in her home. She delighted in playing cards with her grandchildren and never missed a chance to visit a casino or enjoy a shopping day with her children and grandchildren-

always with her purse and lipstick in hand.  She drove until the age of 92, embodying independence and vitality well into her later years. Her presence lit up every room, and she had a unique way of making those around her feel special.

Jennie was preceded in death by her siblings Clara Chakakis, Helen Simvoulakis, Jim Lamatis. She is survived by her sister-in-laws Mary Lamatis and Bessie Micheletos.  May her memory bring comfort and joy to all who knew and loved her.
