Jay Richard Long, 80, entered into rest on September 14, 2014 in Modesto, California. He was born on October 10, 1933 in Rogers Co., Oklahoma to the late William and Flora Long.
Jay leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years Celia Long of Modesto. He is survived by three children, Terrie Sweeney (David) of Fallon, NV; Deborah Moeck (Kevin), and Julie Vierra of Modesto. He also leaves stepdaughters, Connie Brimm (Steven) and Laurie Hendrix (Mick) of Modesto, 13 grandchildren as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
Jay was a Manteca resident most of his life and spent the last 35 years in Paradise, CA. He retired from Toscana French Bread Company after a career spanning 35 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #2026 of Paradise. He enjoyed traveling in his R.V., fishing and simple pleasures that included family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and friend and will be dearly missed.
