Jarrett T. Candini "Jerry," born on July 17, 1937, in El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at Bethany Homes in Ripon, California. He was the decedent of Italian grandparents, Ceasar and Lucia Candini who arrived in Ellis Island in 1898 and 1900.
He is preceded in death by his father and step mother, Milo and Viola Candini, his mother Bernice Olsen, and eldest son Milo Candini.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Myrita Candini, whom he shared a marriage of 68 years with whose partnership exemplified love, devotion, and an unwavering commitment. Jerry is survived by sons, Chris Candini married to wife Beckey Candini, Tracy Candini married to husband Hans Greenawalt, honorary son Rick Rice and daughter-in-law, Suzanne Candini wife of the late Milo Candini. He leaves behind four cherished grandchildren; Milo, Rachelle, Meghann, and Cassie and nine great grandchildren: Ryan, Landon, Milo the IV, Liam, Jarrett, Mason, Maddy, Lucas, and Kendall.
As an 85-year resident of Manteca and a proud graduate of Manteca High School, Jerry was recognized as an outstanding athlete in all major sports during his senior year in 1955. After graduation, he served honorably in the Air Force, spending four years overseas in the South Pacific. He became a butcher and a beer man who worked for Olympia Brewing, Coors, and Anheuser-Busch.
Most importantly, he was a family man to his beloved wife and three sons. Jerry was THE original MacGyver. He instinctively knew his way around anything that needed to be fixed in all aspects of construction, He also was an accomplished welder.
Jerry attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church and found joy in the great outdoors, particularly through bird hunting and fishing. He cherished time spent on his houseboat with family and friends creating unforgettable memories.
He was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and infectious likability, making friends wherever he went. Above all, he was a devoted family man, a loving father, and a doting grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
