Janet was born on May 5, 1942 in Flint, Michigan to William and Leona Benner. She was a devoted wife for 62 years to Thomas Taylor and a loving mother to her children, Dawn Taylor, Robert (Kim) Taylor, and Tracey (Mark) Slezak. She was also a cherished grandmother to Stephanie Denham, Madison and Sydney Slezak, Jillian Morrissey, Brian Johnsrud, Karlie Lindberg, and a proud great–grandmother to nine great–grandchildren! Janet is also survived by her sister, Barbara Schifano, and was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Benner and her beloved son, Robert Taylor.

She had a passion for cooking and baking, filling her home with delicious aromas and the comfort of homemade meals. She was also a talented artist, creating a beautiful collection of ceramics over the years. She found great joy in decorating her home for every season and holiday, making each occasion special for her family and friends. An adventurer at heart, Janet loved spending summers water skiing and winters on the slopes, embracing life with enthusiasm and grace. Throughout her life, she brought warmth and joy to those around her.

She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her love and spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A celebration of Janet's life will be held at her and Tom's home in Ripon April 27, 2025 from 11am–2pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Go Red for Women foundation, in her memory, to help end heart disease and stroke in women. goredforwomen.org
