Ina E. DaCosta, a beloved mother, grandmother, and community member, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2023 in Manteca.  Born on January 19, 1931, in Oklahoma, Ina moved to Tracy, California, as a young girl and graduated from Tracy High School. Ina went on to marrying her high school sweetheart, Leonardo Cardoza DaCosta, on July 10, 1952.

   Ina was known for her love of word games and puzzles, often seen immersed in a crossword or eagerly playing bingo with friends. Her passion for volunteering was evident in her years of service at the Manteca Senior Center, where alongside her sisters, Myrle Aston, Wilma Edwards, and Betty Wright, she delighted in cooking meals, creating holiday crafts, and baking cookies for fellow seniors.  Ina’s dedication to service extended to the Tracy Elks Lodge, where she and Leonardo were longstanding members. Her proudest achievement was becoming the first female Exalted Ruler of the lodge, a role she performed with grace and dedication.

   Above all, Ina cherished her family. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea DaCosta Riley, son-in-law John M. Riley, son Michael L. DaCosta, grandchildren Tara J. Widmer, Tyrone DaCosta and John L. Riley, as well as great- grandchildren Faye Riley and Jaxon Riley

   Ina was preceded in death by her beloved husband Leonardo C. DaCosta, her parents Trula Faye Jackson (Blackburn), and John L. Jackson, siblings Myrle (Jackson) Aston, Wilma (Jackson) Edwards, Lynn L. Jackson, and Betty L. (Jackson) Wright, and her nephew Tommy A. Bullard.

   Ina will be  remembered for her vivacious spirit, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

   A memorial will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at P.L .Fry and Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, Ca. Celebration of life reception will follow at the Tracy Elks Lodge, 6400 W. 11th Street, Tracy, Ca.
