Harris Francis Morris went to be with Jesus on Thursday May 2, 2024.
He was born in San Francisco, CA to Harley and Shirley Morris on February 11, 1948. He was the youngest of four children.
He joined the Army after graduating from High School in 1967, and was part of the 101st Airborne. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was wounded while there. Upon his return from Vietnam, he married his High School sweetheart, Barbara Ready, in March 1969. They moved to Colorado Springs, CO while he finished his time in the military. They settled down in Scotts Valley, CA where Harris went to Bethany Bible College and started working at United Airlines in the shop maintenance department working his way up to mechanic, and eventually retiring from United in 2003. After the birth of their children, Harris and Barbara moved to Manteca in 1979, and raised their family. He loved working on cars and was always tinkering on something in the garage. Harris will be most remembered for his faith and love of God and demonstrating that love in everything he did.
Harris is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, his parents, his sister Gene Bracken, and his brother Rev. Charles Morris. He is survived by his sister Murle Jean Ingham, daughter Jennifer (Jeff) Rice, son Christopher (Janell) Morris, and daughter Helen Morris (Anthony Arnold). He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Hannah and Levi Morris and KayLee Anne and Kaleb Arnold.
