George J. Fitzwater, 85, entered into rest surrounded by his family on June 24, 2012 in Manteca. He was born on December 11, 1926 in San Francisco.

Mr. Fitzwater is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Elfriede and loving children: Carmen Graham (Gary), Steve Fitzwater (Betti), and Linda Ryno (Sam). He was blessed with five grandchildren: Kim Ramos (Chris), Lucas Abshier (Aimee), Jeanie Garza (Pete), Lori McClure (Richard), and Zachary Ryno as well as several great-grandchildren.

George proudly served in the U S Army Constabulary in Berlin during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1948. Before retirement, Mr. Fitzwater worked for Tracy Defense Depot as a Medical Inspector for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and woodworking. He loved family get-togethers and barbecues. George will be remembered for his generous giving heart.
