George was born on February 24, 1931 to his parents Louie and Alice Grube in Ripon, CA.
  He attended Ripon Elementary and graduated from Ripon High School in 1949. On December 11, 1950
he began active duty in the Navy serving in the Korean War aboard the USS LST 1146 Summit County until his honorable discharge on October 7, 1954.
  Upon returning to Ripon he began working in the almond industry alongside Dick Boersma and eventually inheriting his family’s farm. Retiring well into his 80’s he enjoyed all the work in the fields.
  George is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Van Dyk) Grube of 53 years, three children, grandchildren and many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty (Grube) Schmitz.
  A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 3 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel, 111 South Palm Avenue in Ripon. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 4 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Escalon, followed by burial at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
