On Sunday, November 28, 2021, Faith Hannink Moret passed away in her Ripon home at age 64, surrounded by her family.
Faith was born on February 9, 1957 in Modesto, California to Harm and Jennielavon Hannink.
She married Daryl Moret in 1976. Together, they raised their children Angie, Ben, and Whitney. Faith will be remembered for the many lives she touched as a nurse of 37 years. She spent her life caring for others and continually learning. In her early years, she was known as a skilled pianist, baker, seamstress, and speech and debate champion. As a young mother, she fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a registered nurse. She later earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in 2011, in addition to certifications as a public health nurse and legal nurse consultant. Always busy with gardening and interior design projects, Faith made her home both a sanctuary and a work of art. Faith’s life was marked by her strong faith and love for God, a passion for justice, and standing up for what’s right. She had a heart for volunteerism and served as a 4-H leader and Sunday school teacher, volunteered for Ripon’s Family Youth Commission and Police Activities League, and served as an officer in the Soroptimist Club, among other activities. Faith made friends easily and was known for her flare for language and endless supply of million-dollar words. In addition to her fiery spirit and humor, Faith’s impeccable sense of style always made an impression. She was a beauty until the day she left us.
Faith was preceded in death by her father Harm, her mother Jennielavon, and her brother T. Harm.
She is survived by her husband Daryl, her children Angie, Ben (Jessica), and Whitney (Nick), grandchildren Evangeline, Josephine, and Layla, and siblings, Brad (Maren), Lance, Hope, and Gerrit (Shelly).
A celebration of Faith’s life will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Immanuel CRC at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, she has requested that donations be sent to Doctors Without Borders.
