Esther M. Alves, 69, entered into eternal rest on October 1, 2018 in Palo Alto. She was born on May 21, 1949 in Modesto to her loving parents Core and Minnie Maliepaard. 

   Esther leaves behind her husband and love of her life of 47 years, Michael R. Alves, her siblings Rich (Bev) Maliepaard of Ripon, Don (Teresa) Maliepaard of Ripon, Shirley Jorgensen of Ripon and Audrey (Dennis) Helton of Modesto, several nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

   Esther was born and raised in Ripon. She moved to Palo Alto for a brief period of time where she met her eternal companion, Mike Alves. They married August 28, 1971 and moved back to Ripon in 1972 where they became part of the family business, which they purchased in 1986. Esther was the heart and soul of Ripon Auto Parts. She loved to read and do crosswords and volunteer her time as a bookkeeper for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She will be missed dearly by her family as well as all who knew her. 

   Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel. A rosary will be held on Monday, October 8, at 6 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 19399  CA120 in Ripon. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, 

October 9, at 10 a.m., also at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, followed by burial at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. For condolences to the family, please visit Esther’s online guestbook at www.deeganfuneralchapels.
