Eleanor passed away March 13th, 2025 surrounded by family after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Eleanor was the youngest of nine children born to Frank and Mamie Garcia who immigrated to America from Portugal at a very young age.    They bought a farm on Oleander Road and grew yams for a living, raising their family there.  Eleanor met her life love at Manteca High. After watching him run for a touchdown she plotted to meet him in the hallway at school, running into him and dropping her books. That introduction started a lifelong love affair. They soon married and had two children, Karen and Bobby. Eleanor spent most of her years as a homemaker, although she worked several years at The Manteca Drug Store where she made many lasting friends.

She loved traveling in the RV with family and friends, taking the grandkids on many trips from the beach to the desert.  When not traveling her happiest times were attending regular family gatherings. The last fifteen years were spent with her daughter and  son-in-law in Dayton, Nevada due to declining health.

She is survived by her husband, Bob, children; Karen (Jim) and Bobby (Shannon),  grandchildren Jonathon (Samantha), Sean (Kami), great- grandchildren Hannah, Caden and Annabelle.  She is predeceased by parents: Frank and Mamie Garcia, sisters, Mamie (Henry), Adeline (Delbert), Dorothy (John), Madeline (Tony), Florence (Louie), and Edna and brothers; Arthur (Barbara, predeceased and Donna) and Frankie (Betty) and many nephews and nieces.  Bob never left his wife's side, reminding her often that they were "the lovers of this generation". She missed those who had passed before her so desperately. We miss her so, but know she's happy now, enjoying another Garcia family reunion.  Mom was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Anthony's and St. Patrick's Churches.
