Eldora Roos was born on December 28, 1932, in Edgerton, Minnesota and was called home to be with her Lord on January 6, 2025, at the age of 92. She was the sixth of twelve children born to Tom and Dora Roos.
Eldora lived in Brooten, Minnesota during her childhood years and moved with her family to Ripon, California when she was thirteen years old. She attended Ripon Christian Schools. After graduation she moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan and attended the Pine Rest School of nursing and became an LVN. In She moved to southern California and pursued her RN degree at Chaffey College and worked her whole career as a nurse. After her retirement she moved back to Ripon to be near her family. She lived in Bethany Home retirement facilities for the rest of her life.
Eldora lived her life as a follower of Jesus Christ. She attended Christian Reformed churches all her life and attended many Bible study classes. Her Bible was well worn and was her daily comfort as she lived her life for Jesus.
Eldora is survived by her siblings, John (Anita) Roos, Ted (Fran) Roos, Jeanne Dykstra Roos and Lori Livingston, sisters-in-law Nettie Roos and Johanna Roos. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Maurice, Herbert, and Ronald, sisters; Adrianna Philipsen, Rena Swier, Leona Van Groningen and Judith Nacion, brothers-in-law, John Philipsen, John Swier, Henry Van Groningen, and David Livingston. She is also survived by 43 nephews and nieces.
A viewing for Eldora will be held at the Deegan Funeral Chapel in Ripon on Thursday, January 16 from 4p.m.-7.p.m. A graveside service will be held January 17, at the Ripon Cemetery at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church in Ripon at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon.
