Edward Munoz, passed away on July 22, 2023, at the age of 92. Born on November 29, 1930, in Cupertino, California, Edward lived a life filled with love, hard work, and a dedication to family.
Ed was a resident of Manteca for 56 years, where he established deep roots and touched the lives of many. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine Munoz, whom he shared 71 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering commitment to one another. A farmer by trade, Ed found immense fulfillment in working the land. For over 56 years, he dedicated himself to his craft, tending to his almond orchard with care and a genuine love for the land. His tireless work ethic and dedication were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Ed was an active member of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church, where he found solace and spiritual guidance. His faith was an integral part of his life, providing him with strength and comfort in times of both joy and sorrow.
Beyond his dedication to the land and his faith, Ed was a lifelong member of Spring Creek Golf and Country Club. He had a passion for golf and enjoyed spending time on the greens, challenging himself and basking in the camaraderie of his fellow golfers.
Playing cards and traveling were other activities Ed enjoyed. He loved exploring new places with his beloved wife and their loyal companion, their dog, Candy. They relished their annual winter trips to Palm Desert, where they created cherished memories and enjoyed the warmth of the desert sun.
Above all, Ed was a family man who cherished his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with unwavering love and support. He took great pride in their accomplishments and was always there to offer guidance and encouragement. His natural charm lit up rooms wherever he went.
Ed Munoz leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to family. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Lorraine, their three sons; Rick Munoz (Sheri), Ron Munoz (Joan) and Russ Munoz, eight grandchildren; Ryan Munoz, Danielle Linares, Ron Munoz, Tanen Munoz, Michael Brown, Laura Hamilton, Christeena McDonald and Andrea Munoz, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Stella Munoz, his three sisters Peggy Lewis, Gloria Bellanga, and Irene Anello, two daughter-in-laws Betty Munoz and Shelley Kennedy and two grandchildren Dana Freeman and Stephanie Geringer.
P.L. Fry and Son is honored to be serving the Munoz family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 5pm followed by a rosary/vigil at 6pm held at P.L. Fry and Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, Ca. Mass will be on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11:00 am held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 525 E. North St. Manteca, Ca.
