Edward passed away quietly in his home with his family present, Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was born in Tracy, CA, on August 1, 1936.
   Ed attended Midway Grammar School,  and graduated from French Camp School, and Manteca High School in 1954.
   He joined the Navy along with his brothers, Earl and Don, and was honorably discharged four years later. Ed worked at many jobs, including Frito-Lay in Stockton, and for 20 years, at Laura Scudders in Tracy.
   Ed is survived by one son, David Derby of Sun Valley, NV, a sister, Liz Cost (Nelson) of Tracy, and two brothers, Earl (Mary) of Lodi, and Don (Tina Pettit) of French Camp, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Harold Derby, mother Alice Cuasito, a son, Eddie Derby, and two sisters, Hazel Derby and Alice Mae Newman.
   Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 11a.m. at Park View Mortuary, French Camp Rd, French Camp, CA.
