Donna J. Garcia, 87, of  Manteca, passed away  Saturday, March 30, 2019,in Manteca, California after a lengthy illness. A memorial mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
   Donna  JoAn Moberly was born in French Camp, CA to Claude C. Moberly and Ethel R. (Berglind) Moberly.
She attended Escalon schools until moving to Manteca after the eighth grade where  she graduated from Manteca High School in 1950. She  worked at Manteca Drug Store nearly all of her working career.
   She raised three children, George Azevedo, Kathlene Riley and Jessie Clifford Corder. We soon joined, Cynthia (Garcia) Smedley, Dennis Garcia, Gary Garcia, James Garcia and Brian Garcia, when she found the love of her life and married Arthur Garcia combining two families into one. She  was a great mother, but she really excelled at being Grandma Donna.
   She and Arthur loved to travel making several pilgrimages to see mother Angelica. A road trip through the California Gold Country  was a particular highlight, traveling the entire length of
Highway 49 and staying in the historic inns along the way.  Also a hike in beautiful Lake Tahoe, Art and his walking stick at her side. She  loved her times at the beach, Santa Cruz or Aptos where she recharged and found her inspiration.
   She was preceded in death by her beloved Arthur, her son Jessie Clifford Corder, her parents Claude and Ethel Moberly, her sister Virginia Teunissen, and her brother  Claude (Squib) Moberly.
   She is survived by her children George (Janet) Azevedo, Kathlene Riley, Cynthia (Michael) Smedley, Dennis (Pam) Garcia, Gary (Sheryl) Garcia, James (Cindy) Garcia, Brian Garcia, her sister Andrea Martino and multitudes of grand- children, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
   A memorial service will be held Friday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 19399 CA-120, Ripon, CA (It is actually about  midway between Manteca and Escalon.)  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95207.
