Darrell Dean Dalton left this earth peacefully to join his Savior Jesus Christ April 4, 2025. He was born in Indiana and moved to California with his family when he was nine years old. He earned a BA degree from California Baptist Theological College in general studies, a BA degree from LaVerne College in Sociology, and a Masters in Public Administration from USC. He worked in city and county government, real estate, advertising, and owned an oil analysis laboratory, and restaurants.
Darrell liked to hike and camp, learned from his days in Boy Scouts, where he earned Eagle Scout status. His most significant hike was the completion of the John Muir Trail from the Yosemite Valley to the top of Mt Whitney. He loved traveling and camping with his family. He was a member of the Rotary Club for over 45 years, including the Ripon Rotary. He was active in churches he attended and enjoyed Men's Bible Studies.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Barbara Camping Dalton, 4 children, Darlene (Steve) Johanson, Diane (Bob) Randle, Karen (Greg) Balourdas, and Eric Dalton, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two brothers, David and Bobby and five step children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cleo Dalton, mother of his children, his wife, Betty Dalton, and his brother, Allen Dalton.
A celebration of Darrell's life will be held at Almond Valley Christian Reformed Church, 333 S. Wilma Avenue, Ripon May 3, 2025 at 11:00 am, followed by a luncheon at the church.
