Carlon Casey Perry passed away November 15th, 2024. He was 79 years old. Born in French Camp, California on August 17th, 1945 to Inez and Charles Perry,
Carlon lived his whole life in the Lathrop/Manteca area. Carlon is preceded in death by mother and father Inez and Charles Perry, grandparents Agnes and Nile Elliott, brother Alan Elliott and nephew Chip Reichlin.
Carlon attended Lathrop Elementary School, Manteca Union High School and San Joaquin Delta College. Carlon played baseball for Manteca High, Delta College and the Los Angeles Dodgers/New York Mets Minor League teams before being drafted into the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Korea and served as an MP along with special services.
Carlon met his wife Kathleen Reichlin in 1966. They married November 21, 1970 and were married for 54 years. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, sons Carlon Perry II, Geoffrey Perry, daughter Jamie Kesler, grandchildren Shelby-lynn Kesler, Jessy-lynn Kesler, Geoffrey Perry II, Tayler Perry and Bentley Byrum, sister in-law Yvonne Elliott, brother-in-law Joe Reichlin, sister-in-law Janet Reichlin, nephew Mark Elliott, and nieces Shawna Elliott, Karen Elliott and Shaunda Vasey.
Carlon served his communities of Lathrop/Manteca being on various Lathrop boards, was a City of Manteca councilman from 1992 to 1998 and was the Mayor of the City of Manteca from 1998 to 2002. He ended his community service career in 2017 as VFW Post 6311 commander.
Carlon wished that the residents of Lathrop and Manteca would help more with the needs of our local veterans and for all to root for his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers. *One more thing...if you were ever lucky enough to be visited by the Silent Santa holding only a candy cane in hand on Christmas Eve within the last 40 years, you will finally know that it was Carlon Casey Perry. He did it his way!
Services will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Park View Cemetery & Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Rd., Manteca, CA 95336. Graveside will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, CA 95620. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation t2t.org
