Carl Joseph Boutte was born on February 11, 1946, to Morris and Eula Boutte in San Francisco, CA. Due to illnesses brought about by exposure to Agent Orange, Carl, surrounded by loved ones, left for his heavenly home on August 16, 2021.
Carl had lived in Manteca, CA since 1984. He was born in San Francisco, California, but grew up in Oakland and Stevinson, California. He began his school career in Stevinson before moving to Oakland with his family where he attended junior high school and high school, graduating from Oakland Technical High School in 1964. Carl was drafted and served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969, attaining the rank of sergeant. He was a Combat Engineer in the Vietnam war and was still in touch with many of those who served with him. He married Patricia Tripp in 1972.
Carl received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from California State University, Fresno in 1976 and his Masters of Science in Telecommunication Management from Golden Gate University in 1992. He worked for the Bell Companies for 25 years where he held many positions and made life-long friends, retiring as a Network Field Engineer. After retirement, Carl worked as a realtor and remained in close touch with many of his clients from that time.
Carl enjoyed traveling and loved getting to know the people where he traveled. He was fortunate enough to visit four continents, eleven countries, and 35 states, and had friendships that spanned the globe. He especially enjoyed his fishing trips to Alaska. He loved fishing and in his younger days carried his fishing gear in the back of his car so he could stop anywhere and throw in a line.
Carl was preceded in death by both his mother and father and his brother Glen. He is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Patricia, sons, Anthony, Justin, Adam and Troy, his grandchildren, Michael (Austyn), Marcus, Gregory and Christian, sister Mary, brothers, Greg (Kim) and Zale, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carl had a warm, kind, and generous spirit which gained him many friends and he will be missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life luncheon will be held on October 2, 1 p.m., at Hansen Ranch, 29097 Netherton Road, Newman, CA. If you are planning on attending, please let Austyn know at 209-756-2538.
