Beverly Jean Jones (King) obit

Beverly Jean Jones (King) was granted her angel wings on November 18, 2024, at the age of 91. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family.  Beverly dedicated her life to her faith, family, and friends, embodying kindness and compassion in all she did. Her heart was a limitless vessel of love, and those who were fortunate enough to know her will forever cherish the warmth she brought into their lives. Born on May 1, 1933 in Los Angeles, she spent her younger years in southern California with her parents, twin sister Shirley, brother Don, and cousins Barbara Jean and Ernie. She loved dancing and remained close with her family when she moved to Manteca in 1959.

Blessed with three children, she raised her family in Manteca and devoted her time to caring for everyone, which reached far beyond her immediate family. Through her contributions to St. Anthony’s Church, she always looked forward to the annual Harvest Festival, enjoyed serving each week at the soup kitchen, and was honored to serve as President of the MRPS Hall where she loved making sweet bread with all the ladies, Bev made lifelong friends wherever she went. She became involved in every community she resided in throughout her life which was a testament to her will to help. From her involvement with Charlie’s Angels, TOPS, Unity of Santa Maria Church, and rescuing animals in need like her beloved dog Abby,  Bev’s nurturing heart made her loved by all. Aside from keeping busy with crossword puzzles, gardening, playing Bunko, making ceramics and bird houses, she loved to bake, and she passed down many of her award-winning recipes to her family, including her infamous macaroni and potato salad.

She is survived by her son Bob Casanova (Angie) of Manteca, and daughters Glenda Stern of Stockton and Renee Ireland (Tom) of Ripon. Her nine grandchildren, Tonya McDonald, Robert Guillory, Angela Ireland, Jimmie Stern, Cassie Vermeer, Andrea Bonilla, Irene Dominguez, Bobby Casanova, and Mikey Casanova, blessed her with 22 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren to love. She never forgot a birthday, always called and sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to everyone no matter their age, and never failed to send a card for every occasion.

She is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Irene Jones, twin sister Shirley Mawhinney, brother Don Jones, grandson Jimmie Stern, and son- in-law Thomas Ireland.

We are all eternally grateful to have spent our lives being loved and cared for by Beverly. "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35

The family invites you to celebrate the life of Beverly on December 28, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the VFW in Ripon, 12455 W. Ripon Rd.
