Betty Jane Pinol entered into rest on September 12, 2019 in Manteca, CA. She was born in Chicago, Ill. on January 03, 1924 to the late Walter L. and Lillian S. Koster nee Edstrom.
   Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert M. Pinol and two sons, Robert F. Pinol and John B. Pinol. She leaves behind son, Bruce R. Pinol and wife Terry Pinol, son, William S. Pinol, grandchildren Christina Lewis, Ambra Junqueiro, Sheila Pacheco, Crystal Garrett, Benjamin Pinol, Zachary Pinol and 8 great-grandchildren.
   Betty applied for and was accepted to the Cadet Nurse Corps (1939-41), she completed a program at the Norwegian American Hospital School of Nursing (1941-47) and went on to the Loyola University (1947-50) to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Education. Betty worked at numerous hospitals and during her adventures found her way to San Diego, CA. and then to Stockton as a Nursing Instructor at San Joaquin General Hospital (1950-1954).
   She met and married the love of her life, Robert Miller Pinol (1954) and to continue on in their life adventure she followed him to Germany (1957-61). They returned to Stockton, CA. and finally resided in Manteca, CA, (1962). Betty accepted a position as an LVN Nursing Instructor at San Joaquin Delta College. While holding a full-time job and raising four boys; Betty re-entered college to attain a Master’s Degree in Education. She went on to become the Head of the LVN and RN programs as Assistant Division Head of Health Sciences. Betty was a member of the National League of Nursing Council for Practical Nursing and a Consultant for their accreditation services.  She retired in 1984.
After retirement, Betty was an active member of the Eastern Star, St. Paul’s Methodist Church Scholarship Committee, Preschool Board, the Education Committee, and United Methodist Women Board and Harmony Circle.
   A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at
10 a.m. at ST. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 910 E. North St.  She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, at a later day. For condolences to the family. please visit the P.L. Fry and Son website at www.plfryandson.com
