Yes on Q effort surpasses $100K to push passage
Manteca businesses, labor groups, firefighters, local residents, youth sports organizations, and builders have a lot riding on Measure Q on Tuesday’s ballot. As of Oct. 27, the Yes on Q Committee has now raised $103,549.30 to fund its campaign to gain passage of the 20-year long three-quarter cent sales tax on Nov. 5.

Art Godi

Arthur “Art” Godi, 87, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House of San Joaquin on April 15, 2023. He was born March 14, 1936 in Stockton, California to the late Evelyn and Louis Godi.

   Art grew up in Stockton, briefly lived in San Francisco, before graduating from Stockton College (now San Joaquin Delta) in 1955. He finished at Stanford University with a Bachelor's Degree in economics in 1957.  Art got into real estate in 1961 and later opened Art Godi Realtors brokerage in Stockton, reaching service at the state, national and global levels. He was the California Association of Realtors president in 1981 and National Association of Realtors president in 1996. He also taught real estate at The University of the Pacific, Delta as well as throughout Europe.

   He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of Stockton Golf & Country Club for many years. Aside from golf and family time, Art enjoyed playing recreational sports and passionately followed teams like the San Francisco 49ers and Giants. He was also loved supporting Delta, UOP and Stanford, attending countless events.

   He was preceded in death by his son Michael and sister Nadine. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce, sons John (Kara), James (Marisa), Mark (Laura), daughter Ria (Shane); grandchildren Alyssa (Taylor), Ashley (Ryan), Stone (Brynn), Chase, Amy, Ethan, Jett, Dominic, Mia, Payton, and Presley; great-grandchildren Patrick and Cameron.

   Funeral: Saturday, April 22nd at 

10:30  a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7030 North El Dorado Street, Stockton, CA 95207. Graveside burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial, E. Harney Lane & CA 99, Lodi, CA 95240.

   Donations can be made to The ROS1ders Inc., a global cancer fund.
