Albert Freitas obit

Albert Freitas passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on July 8, 2024, at the age of 101. Born on February 23, 1923, in Ripon, California, Albert lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to his family, faith, and work.

Albert is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Edna, who was the love of his life and his cherished companion in all adventures. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless memories.

He is also survived by his children, Don Freitas (Marie) and Denise Silva (Joe), and son-in-law Mike Nicolini. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Don Jr. (Nora), Kristin Miller (Justin), Jaclyn Hoobler, Jeff Camara (Larissa), Joey Silva Jr. (Carrie), Stefani Elwood (Brandon), Nina Silva, and Valerie Cuellar (Mike). Albert was further blessed with many great-grandchildren: Kelli, Gavin, Jeff Jr., Devin, Cole, Raef, Jack, Reagan, Presley, Jameson, Livvy, and Ellie, who brought immense joy and laughter into his life. Albert is also survived by one sister: Bernice Medeiros.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Diane Nicolini, his grandchildren, Nick and Miles, and his siblings, Joe, Helen, and Eleanor.

Albert spent most of his life as a dedicated farmer in the almond industry and the dairy business, where he demonstrated impeccable work ethic and a deep love for the land. In addition to his farming endeavors, he worked as a mechanic for SSJID for 27 years, where he was known for his expertise and commitment.

Faith was an integral part of Albert's life. He was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, a proud member of FESM, Cabrillo, and the Square Wheelers, where he and Edna enjoyed square dancing and made lasting friendships.

Albert had a passion for gardening and growing beautiful vegetables year-round that he generously shared with family and friends. He also loved a great game of Pedro and attended Portuguese festivals, where he enjoyed dancing and socializing with his community.

Albert's dedication to his ranch was unwavering, and it was often a challenge to get him away from the land he loved so dearly. However, his greatest love was his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, always ready with a tease and a twinkle in his eye.

Albert Freitas's legacy is one of hard work, love, and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
