JAY LENO POKES FUN AT STOCKTON: STOCKTON – It’s a city with rising unemployment, bankruptcy and crime. But now funnyman Jay Leno is piling on Stockton.

Lately late night king Jay Leno has been taking some joking jabs at the seat of San Joaquin County.

“Stockton’s so broke, it makes Honey Boo-Boo look like the lifestyles of the rich and famous,” Leno said last week in a second-night of monologue match-ups against the city.

STOCKTON POLICE WARN OF JEWELRY ROBBIERIES: STOCKTON - Stockton Police are warning that with the increase in temperature, there is also an increase in jewelry robberies.

Police report a recent increase in gold chain robberies; where suspects are getting close enough to victims to rip the chains off their necks.

Officers recommend everyone be aware of their surroundings, especially in warm weather when more people are outside. They also suggest walking in groups and avoid being distracted by cell phones.

Also, take photos of your valuables; including jewelry, electronics, and cell phones. Having detailed photos and product serial numbers helps investigators if something is stolen.
