INGLEWOOD  (AP) — One man has been killed and two Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies wounded in a shooting in Inglewood.

City News Service says the incident occurred shortly after midnight Tuesday near Hollywood Park. No details were immediately released about what transpired, but a handgun was found at the scene.

Authorities say a female deputy was struck in the upper leg and she may have had a more serious injury if her phone charger hadn't stopped the bullet. Another deputy was treated at the scene. Neither injury is life-threatening.

A man was taken to a hospital where he died and two others, a man and a woman, have been detained.

It wasn't immediately known why the deputies were involved in a shooting in Inglewood, which has its own police department.
