Young students from St. Anthony’s Catholic School learned a lot about the functions of a hospital and why some things are so important to know during last weels’s Doctors Hospital’s Healthcare Career for Children field trip.
Susie Blair who heads the hospital’s education unit opened the program in the hospital’s conference room. There were nine topics to be covered that lasted in 10 minute segments that were concluded when the students returned to their school on East North Street.
Doctors CEO Nicholas Tejeda spoke briefly to the children injecting a happier note with the admission of having plenty of ice cream and milk shakes at his disposal for the children in the future.
The topics visited included nursing, the hospital lab, imaging, cardio, surgery, physical therapy and a talk by the hospital’s dietician on the importance of eating the right foods to make them big and strong adults.
