The Office of Consumer Affairs with the use of California State Police served a search warrant at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Excel Physical Fitness business at 103 East Main Street in Ripon.
There were 10 unmarked cars parked in and around the Stockton Avenue intersection for the entire day drawing attention from the lunch crowd patronizing the area restaurants.
A spokeswoman for the Office of Consumer Affairs in Sacramento said the warrant was served for the Office of Physical Therapy. The business remained closed for the entire day and patrons with appointments were turned away at the front door.
Some 20 file boxes were seen by merchants in the area being taken out of the business. Authorities said they could not divulge the nature of the warrant service or reveal the focus of their search.
