Manteca’s firefighters are putting on their first golf tournament this Friday at the Manteca Municipal Golf Course  in support of young burn victims who have survived  horrific fires in order to help send them to burn camp.
Registration is set for 7:30 prior to the event that will begin at 8 with a shotgun ball drop on the course.
The fee is $100 per person and $400 for a foursome with hole-in-one prizes for the three golfers coming the closest to the hole.  They will later have the option of a playoff to see if any can make the hole and qualify for a $1 million prize.
The event will include a luncheon at the golf course clubhouse restaurant, Chez Cheri.  First responders from around the county have been invited to turn out including police, ambulance personnel and other firefighters from Lathrop, Ripon, Tracy, Escalon, Stockton and Modesto. Members of the public are also welcome to play in the tournament.
The young burn victims will be sent up to the Bear Valley Resort for a ski camp and on their return will be hosted to a barbecue by firefighters at Station 2 on Union Road at the 120 Bypass.
To register call Franco Torrice at (209) 606-4883.
