Zumba classes, line dancing session & family dance on tap

If being more active is on your to do list in 2025, you can get moving with Zumba classes through Manteca Recreation & Community Services.

There are sessions for Zumba Kids Jr. (ages 4 to 6), Zumba Kids (ages 7 to 12), and Zumba (ages 18 plus).

The adult Zumba takes place on Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m. 

The $32 fee ($42 fee for those who do not reside within the city limits) covers a four week session. The upcoming sessions start Jan. 6, Feb. 5, and March 3.

The two Zumba classes for youth are on Wednesdays with the session for kids ages 4 to 6 between 5:15 and 5:45 p.m. and for ages 7 to 12 between 6 and 6:45 p.m.

The fee is $28 for ages 4 through 6 (non-residents are $38) and for ages 7 through 12 the fee is $32 (non-residents $42) for four sessions.

There are four week sessions starting Jan. 7, Feb.4, and March 4.

All Zumba classes take place in the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane.

Free skateboarding

workshop Saturday

There are free skateboarding workshops this Saturday, Jan. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Manteca Skate Park reached via the Tidewater Bikeway from Center Street and Elm Avenue.

Whether your child is a total beginner or has some experience,  the professional instructor with 20 years of skateboarding experience is ready to teach the fundamentals to kids ages 5 to 12.

It will include learning essential skills such as  dropping in, kick pushing, balance, and more.

All skill levels, including first-time riders, are invited

Family dance Jan. 25

Manteca Park & Community Services family dance is set for Saturday, Jan. 25, starting at 6 p.m. at the Manteca  Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane.

This year’s edition will have a Star War theme.

Attendees are encouraged to wear themed attire.

The cost is $10 per participant.

The evening will include music, dancing, photo opportunities, and more.

Pre-registration is required.

Line dancing Jan. 26

An afternoon of line dancing for those 18 and older takes place on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane.

Tickets are $10 at the door. Cash or checks are accepted.

Teachers will also be doing short reviews to help you improve.
