In recent year, the Woodbridge Drama group from the local active adult community lost two members.
Included were Ralph Noe and Bill Paradis. They found comfort during their final days thanks to support of Hospice of San Joaquin.
On Friday, members from Woodbridge by Del Webb – an active adult community in Manteca – provided a $1,500 donation, which were proceeds from the group’s last performance, to the hospice, a non-profit organization based in Stockton.
Since 1980, the Hospice of San Joaquin has supported terminally ill patients who have exhausted curative treatment.
The Hospice of SJ is near and dear to Michelle Paradis of the Woodbridge Drama group. Her husband, Bill, spent his final year in hospice care.
She continues to serve as a volunteer, helping families and loved one, according to Sandy Stoddard.
Stoddard, who is the Director of Marketing & Development for the Hospice of SJ, and Volunteer Program Manager Becky Freeman were on hand at the Woodbridge by Del Webb club house.
They accepted the check – the money will be used for patient and family services – from the drama group consisting of Ken and Debbie Stedtfeld, Lynn Enfield, Sandy Showaker, Linda McNeel, Dan Fichera, Randy Booth, and Michelle Paradis.
Paradis mentioned that her late husband, Bill, and Noe “both passed under excellent, compassionate care of the Hospice of SJ.”
The donation from the drama group was held in their memory, she added.
