The Bikes for Kids Christmas Giveaway is coming soon.

Thanks to recent fundraisers such as Kar Kapades, the non-profit organization spearheaded by Pete Paulsen of Paulsen Motorsports has plenty of refurbished bikes for those in need of one.

Volunteers, however, are being sought to work on the bikes prior to the free giveaway at the Paulsen Ranch, 1504 W. Bowman Rd., French Camp, on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Santa will also be in attendance that day to take Christmas wishes while helping hand out bicycles.

“We are limiting the giveaway to one bike per family so that we can help reach as many people as we can,” Paulsen said.

In addition, cookies, candy canes and hot chocolate will be there for the taking to those at the Paulsen Ranch.

He already has well over 100 donated bikes – Andrew Rodriguez from West Coast Custom delivered 62 bikes to the cause – with another 100 in his shop.

“Our (giveaway) goal is 200,” said Paulsen, who handed out 150 bikes a year ago.

This will be his fourth year for Bikes For Kids.
