Victor Ramirez is the interim principal at Park View Elementary School.

For the past seven years, he served as vice principal at Ripon High.

“If you have older students who attended RHS, we may have into each other at sporting events, school activities or other community events,” Ramirez said in recent his letter to the Park View parents.

He takes over from Jim Schuller, who Ramirez thanked for his support during the recent transition. “I wish (Jim) well in his new position,” he added.

Ramirez’s new position was announced at the Dec. 12 Ripon Unified school board meeting.

In addition to his time at RHS, he was a school psychologist with the district as well as a program director for a day program for adults with development disabilities.

Trustees, meanwhile, accepted Ramirez’s position change along with that of Norma Elsumri, who will serve as Executive Assistant to the Superintendent, Ziggy Robeson – she recognized outgoing assistant Grace Luke for her services.

RUSD, in addition, welcomed new hires, including Debbie Nease (certified assigned teacher), Myra Jones (bilingual para / family liaison, Colony Oak Elementary School), Nicole Hernandez (instructional aide substitute), Mary Newell (instructional aide substitute) and Kaela Gill (certified substitute).
