Two major incidents — six minutes apart — tied up Manteca Fire personnel in the early morning hours Monday.

There were:

*A vehicle that crashed into a house in the 1600 block of Daniels Street at 1:13 a.m..

*A fire that fully involved the garage of a single story home in the 400 block of Grantwood Court at 1:19 a.m.

Lathrop Manteca Fire provided assistance on the first call that involved a vehicle slamming into the front corner of the garage portion of a residential structure.

The vehicle had major damage and had collided with two other parked vehicles in the driveway before hitting the structure.

The vehicle had broken the main water supply for the house and caused major structural damage.

One patient in the vehicle was treated and transported, and units worked on debris and fluid clean up.

A City building inspector and PG&E were requested, while water and gas utilities were secured to the structure.

The  building inspector tagged the building uninhabitable. PG&E confirmed the gas service needed to remain off, and the electric service could remain on.

The occupants were displaced from the residence due to the incident.

Nineteen fire personnel, including a Lathrop Manteca engine company, were dispatched to the Grantwood fire.

One company was assigned removal of the front garage door and another was assigned to stretch an attack line to the side of the structure.

Other engine companies handled other tasks including vertical ventilation over the living area.

Contact was made with the occupants and an all clear was confirmed on any possible rescues.  After fire knock down and containment, a fire investigation was assigned for cause and origin. Results of the investigation's fire cause is officially listed as undetermined.

Due to the aggressive coordinated fire attack initial knock down was quickly achieved, with extensive overhaul needed afterwards.

There was no civilian or fire service injuries during the incident. The occupants were displaced due to the fire and smoke damage to the structure.
