Work is taking place at the Ripon Senior Center.

This is part of the rehabilitation project that calls for a range of improvement designed to create a more welcoming and enjoyable space for the locals.

Estate Design & Construction, Inc. was awarded the project back in November.

Besides the installation of the metal shade structure – a metal pergola – the project will also include the installation on new windows and doors, painting of the building, new siding to rejuvenate the exterior of the building, and updated landscaping and irrigation.

According to the City of Ripon Spring 2025 newsletter, the Senior Center Rehabilitation Project – funded by a federal Community Development Block Grant – is scheduled for a May completion.

Plans to renovated the City of Ripon facility at 433 S. Wilma Ave. goes back to March 2019, with SKW & Associated designing the 1,300-square-foot outdoor seating area on the southeast corner of the existing Senior Center parcel.

The shade structure was purchased in October 2022 along with the light fixtures and ceiling fans.

Estate Design & Construction Inc. began work on Feb. 3.
