Add Jimmy Barbour to the Ripon Consolidated Fire District board race on the Nov. 8 ballot.
He’s listed as a firefighter by the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters office.
Barbour will challenge Harrison Gibbs and Bryce Perkins, both longtime board members for the local fire and ambulance services, for one of the two available seats.
Here’s a recap of the other local races:

Board President Christopher ‘Kit’ Oase is again seeking reelection for his Trustee Area 3 post. This time he’ll be challenge by Tiffany Treece and Timothy O Matthews.
Incumbent Vince Hobbs in Trustee Area 2 is unopposed and is looking at being appointed to another four years on the school board.
Ripon City Council

This is for the full four-year term.
Gary Barton, who was a provisional appointment back in December, was unchallenged for the two-year short term.
He’ll be appointed to finish out the term formerly held by Tim Wheeler, who stepped down at the midway point after being elected in 2020 – he and his family moved to Montana
