Thefts, burglaries fall from 120 reports in ‘23 to 96 during last year

The total number of reported thefts and burglaries were down this past year, based on the recently released ‘Ripon Crime Statistics: 2023 vs. 2024 Comparison’ report.

“With the conclusion of 2024, we present a comparative analysis of crime statistics for 2023 and 2024, focusing on crimes that significantly impact community safety in Ripon,” said the Ripon Police Department via social media.

In 2024, police, in their Theft /Burglary Summary of the report, noted that were 96 total thefts, including 55 retail thefts.

Compare that to 2023, consisting of 120 total thefts, including 51 retail thefts.

The total number of burglaries in Ripon were 25 such incidents in 2024, with four being residential burglaries.

There were 34 reported burglaries previous year, including two residential burglaries.

“Our officers continue to implement the department’s philosophy of proactive policing to prevent crime, with the goal of making Ripon one of the safest communities in California,” police added.
