Friends of East Union Cemetery and members of the community have donated thousands of flameless tea lights to be placed on each headstone to honor the souls resting during Christmas.

Today, starting at 2:30 p.m., volunteers will begin placing a lit flameless tea light on every headstone at the cemetery at Union Road and Louise Avenue.

Anyone in the community wanting to join others in placing the lights are welcome.

The lights will stay lit from Friday, Dec. 22, thru Dec. 25.

The gates will remain open until 8 p.m. each day,
