StocktonCon Winter is back.
The two-day pop culture event is scheduled for the weekend of Feb. 25-26 – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days – at the Stockton Arena.
This will mark the fifth anniversary of StocktonCon Winter, which will feature more than 250 booths and tables filled with artists, exhibitors, and celebrity special guests.
Among those on the StocktonCon Winter guests list are actor Edward James Olmos from the ’80s television series, Miami Vice; actor Phil Morris, who played lawyer Jackie Chiles on Seinfeld; Mo Collins from Fox’s sketch comedy Mad TV; voice actress Mela Lee (Jade) from Mortal Kombat 11; Jesse Hernandez, who is a tattoo artist and graphic designer for video games and collectible toys; actor Johnny Young from Ayla: The Daughter of War, The Warrior’s Way, and Ghost in the Shell; voice actor and comedian Maurice LaMarche (Pinky & The Brain, Futurama, The Real Ghostbusters); voice actor and singer Rob Paulsen (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Jonny Quest); WWE wrestler and actor Rob Van Dam; and retired professional wrestler Diamond Dalla Page, just to name a few.
Local comic book creator and Manteca High product Ramon Villalobos (Young Avengers, E is for Extinction, Nighthawk) is also back along with illustrator Chris Marrinan (DC, Marvel, Image, Dark Horse comics), and comic book creator Mel Smith (Becoming Frankenstein, Feed America’s Children, Gumby).
StocktonCon was founded by organizer Mike Millerick in 2012 as a one-day event at the University of the Pacific, growing over the years to one of the top pop culture events on the West Coast thanks to overwhelming fan support.
In-store and online presale tickets are currently available for StocktonCon Winter at www.stocktoncon.com.
Cost is $15 in advance for one day ($3 facility fee will be tacked on) and $23 for two days ($6 facility fee).
Kids 12 and under are free with a paying adult.
Tickets will be available on the weekend of StocktonCon Winter: $20 for one day ($3 facility fee), $30 for both days ($6 facility fee).
In addition, the costume contest is scheduled for 4:30 in the Stockton Arena Panel Rooms.
War Torn Front will provide a backdrop for those into collectible car gaming in the Game Area located in the extended lobby area.
Once Upon a Video will be providing free gaming on the Fun Deck.
A portion of the proceeds from StocktonCon Winter will go directly to local charities.
