Ripon Rotary Club President John Mangelos received a donation from Spring Creek Golf & Country Club General Manager Steve Hupe to go towards charitable causes. The contribution was made possible by last month’s Rhythm on the Range fundraising concert held at the local country club

The Rhythm on the Range fundraising concert was recently held at Ripon’s Spring Creek Golf & Country Club.

This 14th annual event featuring the country rock group ‘The Road Hammers’ was deemed a “huge success” by organizers – the Aug. 12 event raised over $60,000, which, in turn, were doled out to several organizations in town.

Included were Love Ripon, Ripon Community Fund, Ripon High, and the Ripon Rotary Club, according to Spring Creek General Manager Steve Hupe.

Rotary President John Mangelos applauded the Spring Creek for its philanthropic efforts on Wednesday.

Spring Creek, which has played host to the local Rotary meetings since 2014, donated a check to Rotary for $9,095.88 to go towards charitable causes.

Hupe, who thanked the many sponsors of Rhythm on the Range – held every August at the country club – noted that this year’s concert had an attendance of about 2,000 or so.

“We also donated about $10,000 to Rotary last year,” he said.

Mangelos added: “Spring Creek is more than just our local country club – the club goes above and beyond in giving back to the community.”

Spring Creek, in addition, helps fund the junior golf program and provides employee scholarships.
