Some of the illegal steroids seized by Lathrop Police

A Los Angeles man that was observed driving erratically and found by Lathrop Police officers to be asleep at the wheel was not arrested for driving under the influence last week.

But he was taken into custody for the large quantity of anabolic steroids that he had in his possession as well as drug paraphernalia.

According to the agency, officers were dispatched to locate the vehicle after the community called in reports of erratic driving and located the man asleep behind the wheel. Officers were able to determine that he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but did discover a large quantity of steroid tablets, a syringe, and glass pipes commonly used to smoke methamphetamine.

“We appreciate our community reporting dangerous or erratic drivers,” the Lathrop Police said in a statement about the incident. “We take these calls seriously and will respond in efforts to keep our community safe for all.”
