The Sequoia Elementary School Class of 2018 were honored Wednesday during an eighth-grade promotion exercises filled with plenty of pomp and circumstance.
All told, 98 were recognized for having met Manteca Unified’s promotion requirements for promotion to high school.
They were led by co-valedictorians Ivanna Ayala Moreno and Adrianna Powell. Both received the highest academic honor for maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the past two years.
Ayala Moreno and Powell were also among those who proudly wore gold cords, receiving further recognition by Principal Lisa Herrin.
She and Jacqui Breitenbucher, MUSD’s Chief Business Officer, in addition. provided special recognitions at the special event held at the Manteca High gymnasium.
