Kate Schulenberg will look to fill the seat on the San Joaquin County Commission on Aging previously held by Philip Lang.

He recently resigned from the commission that acts as advisory body to the SJC Board of Supervisors after serving six years.

After Lang’s resignation, the City of Ripon advertised for residents who might be interested in serving in this role.

Schulenberg was among the applicants.

On Sept. 19, Mayor Leo Zuber interviewed interested individuals. From that, Schulenberg was recommended to the Ripon City Council for the appointment.

Members on the Commission on Aging serve for a period of three years and are expected to participate in regular meetings as well as sub committees, as part of their duties.

Each member is appointed by those elected leaders of the incorporated municipalities within San Joaquin County.
